I first heard of The Lizzie Bennet Diaries (LBD) about a month ago after I began to see posts about it in my tumblr feed. I was finally drawn to watching it after seeing a particularly sweet gif of Jane Bennet (Lizzie’s older sister) interacting with her boyfriend, Bing Lee.This piece refers to the scene that Lizzie describes where she and Darcy are having the most awkward dance at the wedding. Now, the term “smoking hot” a term that I use rarely, but in reference to Bing Lee’s appearance, it more than justly applies.
But it turns out that apart from the smoking hot guy(s), LBD is a very brilliant web series. In a mere three days, I was I caught up with the 60 episodes that had been posted at the time. Granted, each ep is between 3:30 to 6 minutes long, but there’s so much that happens.
Did I mention that it’s a modern retelling of Pride & Prejudice (which I still have not seen because I’m lame)? And all the characters have twitter accounts, so it’s a truly immersive and interactive viewing experience.
